Affordable Wigs For All
Wednesday January 5, 2005
A woman in Scotland isn't letting the high cost of wigs prevent a cancer patient from owning one. She started the country's first "Wig Bank" for people to donate unwanted hair pieces.
Agnes Lennox is a 47-year old cancer survivor who got the idea for the wig bank after plunking down £175 (about $330 U.S.) for her own wig following chemotherapy.
Agnes says she washes all wig donations and sells them to cancer patients for under £20 ($38 U.S.). Those who don't want to buy may lease a wig for £5 (about $10 U.S.).
